The Arjón Aqueduct system takes water from the Coronda River which makes up the Paraná River alluvial valley. Untreated raw water is piped from the river to the treatment plant through a 1,200 mm diameter pipe, at a flow rate of 2.17 m³/sec, as per the General Plan. Once treated, the liquid is then pumped through water mains and secondary feeders to each of the localities to be serviced, where it will be stored in tanks. The work will provide the populations in these areas with good quality drinking water, reducing public health risks from water-borne diseases, and allowing localities currently limited by water shortages to develop and flourish.

Section 3, which is covered by this contract, includes the construction of the Trunk Water Mains between Pumping Station No. 3 in San Carlos Centro (EB3) to Pumping Station No. 4 on Provincial Route No. 10 (EB4). The course of these water mains will run parallel to Provincial Route No. 63, Provincial Route No. 78-s, and local roads. The pipes to be installed will be PEAD DN 1000 mm (Class 10), HDPE DN 900 mm (Classes 8 and 6) and HDPE DN 800 mm (Class 6), for a total length of 23,600 meters. At the entrance to the town of San Carlos Centro, 200 and 250 mm diameter PEAD pipes (Class 6) will be laid, covering a total distance of 2,360 m from the water mains to the local cistern.

A Pumping Station will be built in San Carlos Centro with a Q10 = 925 l/s design flow and a delivery head of H10 = 80 mca for the trunk aqueduct system. Other tasks involve replacing a reinforced concrete cistern and installing a CCTV system as part of a centralized network, as well as other ancillary works.
