The two Francis turbines are ready to start generating power
The work at the Punta Negra Hydroelectric Plant has clocked up a milestone with the connection of the second Francis turbine to the National Grid. Tests have been completed and the two turbines of installed capacity of 30.83 MW each are currently running, regulated according to the flow and volume management needs downstream.
Commercial operations will begin once CAMMESA has received the report about the theoretical model of regulation of turbines with different voltages, which has already been measured by the company SIEyE with very satisfactory results.
The Punta Negra Hydroelectric Plant is close to beginning power generation to serve San Juan and the entire country
